No other President in the history of the United States has abused our constitution as much as President H. W. Bush our 43rd President. No other President has dared to limit from the citizens so many constitutional rights.

In addition to circumventing the constitution and eliminating rights guaranteed to the citizens of this great nation, no other United States President has been responsible for so much torture of so many humans. Not only of foreigners but also of its citizens.

President Bush has trampled on and violated the Geneva Convention Accords to the extent that he had to sneak a pardon into a war funding bill for himself and his henchmen. The pardon is retro active and covers acts more commonly know as “war crimes” which he or any one in his administration may have committed from September 11 forward.

Interesting thought here. If the present administration has always acted within the law, why then the self pardon for war crimes? If a president can pardon himself with regard to war crimes, why have other presidents of other nations not done so (Milosovich, Saddam, etc.)?

Now assuming that the pardon, hidden deep in a war funding bill, was put there for a reason, how does that make us any different from any other terrorist organization?

While you think about those facts let me proceed to another even more chilling fact. The President can enact laws simply by writing the law and then signing it. It is what is called a Presidential Directive. Wikipedia.org defines Presidential Directives thus:

“Presidential directives are a form of executive order issued by the President of the United States with the advice and consent of the National Security Council. As a form of executive order, a Presidential Directive has the “full force and effect of law.” [1] Because of the nature of presidential directives as pertaining to the national security of the United States, many presidential directives are promulgated as classified. Various presidents since the administration of John F. Kennedy have issued such directives but under different names“.

are a form of executive order issued by the President of the United States with the advice and consent of the National Security Council. As a form of executive order, a Presidential Directive has the “full force and effect of law.” [1] Because of the nature of presidential directives as pertaining to the national security of the United States, many presidential directives are promulgated as classified. Various presidents since the administration of John F. Kennedy have issued such directives but under different names“.President Bush has issued two Directives that are of interest here. Both are the same except that they are issued as a directive to two different agencies. They are NSPD-51 (National Security Presidential Directive #51) and HSPD-20 (Homeland Security Presidential Directive #20). Both of these Presidential Directives supercede the National Emergency Act.

Under the old National Emergency Act the President could declare martial law only after going to congress and making a case for it. Under the new presidential directives there is no requirement to get congressional approval or even to inform congress. AND the directive gives the president total control over all three branches of government.

Under this new directive, President Bush would in effect become the dictator of the United States. He would control the congress and the supreme court and of course the white house.

Under the new law the President takes control of the government whenever there is an emergency. So what constitutes an emergency? According to the new law its anything the president decides to declare as an emergency. It can be as big at the 9/11 attack or it can be something as small as a tornado hitting a small town. It could even be an event occurring in some other country. This new law leaves it up to the president to decide what constitutes a national emergency.

Also of interest here is that under the new law the President takes control of all military functions AND all state and local police including tribal councils and even private security guards. In other words the President takes control of any and all groups that may have the ability to defend our country against a political coup and puts those groups under his command. Under his leadership, posse comatatus (a federal law prohibiting the use of military troops to police our citizens) would be suspended and our own troops would be directed to occupy our own country.

Here is a reference that you may want to watch. This clip was part of a C-Span news segment called Washington Journal with columnist Dr. Jerome Corsi. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dlB966zQIZ4What does all this mean to the common man? Some scholars have advanced the theory that King George… I mean President George Bush may not want to leave the White House come January 2009. Rumor has it that the President may create a national emergency and cancel the November 2008 elections. The rumors are based upon his passion for power and the way he became president in the first place. Remember President Bush was not elected to the presidency the first time he became president. He has made subtle changes in laws to his benefit and his mental attitude toward power along with his willingness to violate the constitution of the United States, makes him a very dangerous president.

Is this something that is likely to happen? Anything can happen, anything is possible. No one even dreamed that the supreme court could appoint a president of the United States. But it did happen.

Philosopher Ayn Rand in 1959 predicted economic downfall and dictatorship for the USA. She prefaced her prediction with the statement that man has the ability to chose. And if the right choices were to be made then the Republic would survive. I would like to think that we have chosen well. If that be not the case, then perhaps we are damned to fulfill her chilling prophecy.

For the first time in the history of the United States of America I am ashamed of my country and its leaders!!!

Leading doctors and mental health professionals examined former prisoners of Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and found evidence of of U.S. torture and war crimes.

I do not mean your run of the mill pushing and shoving, I mean real torture. Some men reported, and the doctors found evidence of, being raped by sticks and other objects. Also, being shocked by electric wires on various parts of the body. Also reported were incidents of being stripped naked and paraded in front of the opposite sex for days and sometimes weeks.

A lot of the torture that took place is specifically prohibited by international law and is considered a “war crime”. Although President Bush may deny the charge and say it was only a hand full of troops that took the law into their own hands, we the American public know better. We know who authorized the torture, who condoned it, and we know who pardoned himself and his cabinet for war crimes that he or his administration may have committed from 9-11-01 to present.

President Bush was well aware of the events taking place. If he wasn’t then why did he pardon himself and those in administration for any war crimes that may have been committed? Of course this pardon he gave himself and his appointees begs another question; Did all the other leaders tried for war crimes not pardon themselves?

I think it is time that we as a nation admit that we are morally bankrupt. There is no excuse for this type of behavior. Please, I beg of you to explain to me how this type of behavior sets us above and apart from the very people we are at war with? Does this really make us better than them? HOW? For god’s sake does sticking a stick up a man’s ass make us better than them? Explain that to me, please.

Those of us that have family in the military should be appalled and afraid. Is it any wonder that the enemy tortures and beheads our troops when captured? Are we leading the way, setting the example of how to treat prisoners? If these were our men that were being tortured, our sons, daughters, husbands, wifes, uncles, grandchildren, etc. would we still feel the same?

I am well aware that over 25% of the American public sees nothing wrong with torturing prisoners of war. Over 25% of the American public still supports President Bush and his administration. Of those 25 to 28 percent that still support the present administration I have to ask again: How does torturing our enemies make us better than them.

We are at an historic crossroad. We can continue to hide our head in shame or we can take charge and demand better from those appointed to serve us. The congressional computers should be straining under the load of thousands of emails demanding impeachment of the president for war crimes and treason. The white house computers should be full of calls for the resignation of President Bush. OR we can do nothing and in doing nothing we condone the policies and practices of this administration. The choice is ours to make. I pray we make the right choice for the benefit of all mankind.
