Increase website growth through the use of referral programs
Websites like Oocuz.com could benefit greatly from implementing a referral program. The 100% ad revenue sharing is nice, and certainly leads to a lot of publicity because this is just a very good deal. However, in the end all users are best served by a greater reader base and a greater group of authors, with more good articles, and in the end more visitors that come just for the content.
To achieve this, a referral program could be greatly beneficial. Oocuz.com could set back its revenue sharing to 80%, and reserve the other 20% for the first level referrer. This will strongly stimulate network growth, because many people like the idea of referring people and earning some long-term income from that. Many other article writing websites also use this referral system, and it assures a lot of publicity from authors that also write on other websites.
For example, I am also an author on Xomba, a competitor of Oocuz.com. If someone becomes a Xomba member through my referral link, I earn 10% of their advertisement income. This motivates me to tell about Xomba on other sites.
I would like to do the same for Oocuz.com, since there the revenue is higher and the sites just looks a bit better. But I am not motivated to promote Oocuz.com, because in the end I do not gain anything directly by promoting Oocuz.com. Thus, a referral program would be great, I would be willing to hand in a bit of revenue sharing for that!.
What to the other users on Oocuz think about this? What does Marc think about it? Is it even possible to implement in the WordPress surrounding?
